REGISTERED PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST | EMDR SPECIALIST | clinical assessment

As human beings, feelings of burnout, anxiety, or depression can arise at various points in our lives. Consulting a psychologist can be immensely beneficial in addressing these challenges.

Anchal Kanwar

Anchal is a dedicated and compassionate Provisional Psychologist with over four years of experience providing therapy and psychological assessment to children, youth, and adults. Her work focuses on supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, life transitions, family and relationship challenges, complex trauma, PTSD, and personality-related concerns. She is committed to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel genuinely seen, understood, and supported as they move toward meaningful and lasting change.

Anchal’s therapeutic approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Attachment-Based Therapy. She also has advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), with specialized experience working with trauma, dissociation, and complex presentations. Whether working with children through play-based, developmentally informed methods or guiding adults through deeper emotional processing and skill development, Anchal empowers clients to build resilience, emotional regulation, and a stronger sense of self.

In addition to therapy, Anchal is highly skilled in conducting comprehensive psychological assessments across Level A–C measures. Her assessment experience includes psychoeducational evaluations; cognitive testing (WISC, WAIS, WPPSI); behavioural and adaptive functioning assessments (BASC-3, ABAS-3, Vineland-3); ADHD evaluations (Conners-4, Brown EF/A, CAARS-2); Autism assessments (ADOS-2, ADI-R); and personality and trauma-related measures (PAI, MCMI-IV, CAPS-5, SCID-5). She takes a detailed and data-driven approach to ensure accurate diagnoses and practical, meaningful recommendations that support clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Anchal holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science from MacEwan University. She is a registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and an active member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta. Her professional background includes private practice, school-based behavioural support, community mental health, and supervised clinical training. Deeply committed to ongoing learning, Anchal continues to pursue advanced training to provide the highest standard of care. Above all, she strives to cultivate a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, respect, and compassion—supporting each client’s unique journey toward healing and growth.

Inclusivity is fundamental to Anchal’s practice and she warmly welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, striving to provide a culturally sensitive therapeutic experience conducive to healing and addressing multicultural concerns.
