Throughout our life journey, it’s common to encounter periods of burnout, anxiety, or depression. Turning to a mental health specialist can provide valuable assistance in effectively addressing and managing these difficulties.
DR. CARSON RYNER
Carson employs a client-centered, strength-based eclectic approach in working with clients, drawing from various therapeutic modalities. He has received training and supervision in cognitive-behavioural therapy, brief solution-focused approaches, and couple counselling methods, with years of supervision enhancing his expertise. Carson holds certificates in Conflict Resolution, Critical Incident Debriefing, and Separation Mediation, reflecting his commitment to continued professional development.
Over his twenty-five-year career in Ontario, Canada, as a registered social worker, Carson primarily worked in community-based counselling agencies and mental health teaching centers, specializing in anxiety, depression, and PTSD. His PhD research focused on group work, particularly in teaching forgiveness within stress and anger management groups. Carson earned his Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, where he was awarded a University Fellowship scholarship and completed his placement at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health within the forensic division.
In recent years, Carson has transitioned to providing clinical supervision, mentoring MSW Social Workers and counsellors in Master programs. His experience includes serving as a clinical manager and supervisor of counsellors and addiction support workers. Carson’s diverse interests extend to conflict resolution, mediation, substance use recovery, and addressing challenging family of origin issues.
Currently pursuing ministry and theology in a MDiv program, Carson has received an entrance scholarship and is completing a ministry student placement at a local church. Additionally, he remains active in his community by delivering sermons at various local churches, with a particular passion for integrating theology and psychology.
