Kylee is a passionate and creative individual with a love for music, art, and family. She sings in a women’s choir, bringing her voice to life through song, and she finds joy both in creating and appreciating art. Having been married for 25 wonderful years, she shares her life with her partner and three children—ages 21, 19, and 16—who keep her on her toes. Kylee also has two lively puppies who add a dose of energy to her home. When she’s not spending time with her loved ones, you can often find her cruising around on her Vespa, enjoying the freedom and joy it brings.

"It seems to me that the good life is not a fixed state. The good life is a process, not a static condition. It is a direction to move toward, not a final destination to reach."

Kylee is a skilled and compassionate mental health therapist with nearly a decade of experience in providing therapeutic support to a wide range of individuals, couples, and families. Currently, she works at Maith Counselling in Edmonton, where she provides mental health therapy to clients referred by the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB). In this role, she supports clients experiencing distress due to injury, offers couples counseling for spouses/partners, and provides grief therapy for family survivors of WCB clients who have passed away.
In addition to her role at Maith Counselling, Kylee has been with Alberta Health Services (AHS) since 2010, currently serving at the Access 24/7 Addiction and Mental Health Hub. Here, she provides intake services, crisis intervention, and connects clients to necessary services, including urgent psychiatry and short-term stabilization. She works alongside police to address community addiction and mental health crises and supports a family peer support group. Kylee’s experience spans various roles within AHS, including school-based mental health therapy, child/youth/family therapy, and working as a youth addictions counselor. She has also contributed significantly to community outreach, including her work as a counselor at a local women’s shelter.
Kylee holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a clinical focus from the University of Calgary, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Athabasca. Throughout her career, she has been trained in several therapeutic modalities, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and is certified in mediation. She is skilled in treating a range of issues, including trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
A strong believer in connecting clients with the resources they need, Kylee’s approach is client-centered, helping individuals take practical steps to improve their quality of life and relationships. In addition to her professional work, she has a deep commitment to her community, particularly in the area of sexual exploitation of women and girls, where she has contributed to the book When Men Buy Sex: Who Really Pays? by Andrea Heinz and Kathy King.
Currently, Kylee is able to direct bill to the following insurance providers: Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP/ARTA, Medavie Blue Cross, Canada Life, Dejardins, Equitable Life of Canada, First Canadian Insurance, Green Shield Canada, Chambers of Commerce Group, SSQ Financial, Sunlife, and Manulife.
