MENTAL HEALTH AMBASSADOR | COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Every individual possesses the inherent ability to achieve their highest potential. This conviction is the cornerstone upon which the transformative powers of vulnerability and healing are harnessed.
CHICHI EDEOGU
Afia is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Alberta where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Biology. With a history of working with young children, she has developed an increased understanding of child development and behaviour.
Additionally, she is determined to bring more mental health awareness to the South Asian community in hopes of breaking generational trauma and creating a healthier space for future generations. Her passion for mental health makes her a long time advocate where she actively engages in spaces and conversations to dismantle harmful stigmas.
LET'S GET PERSONAL
In her free time, Afia enjoys turning to sports and physical exercise where she finds a healthy outlet for stress while maintaining her physical well-being. She enjoys volunteering in her community, giving back to the people that were there for her on her journey through life. Through her volunteer work she aims to make a positive impact on the people around her, even it is in small ways.
