TREATY LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

"Honouring Indigenous connection to the land"

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Nova Psychology recognizes that the area we refer to as Alberta is the ancestral land of numerous Indigenous peoples, currently governed by Treaties 6, 7, and 8. This includes the Blackfoot Confederacy (Kainai, Piikani, and Siksika), Cree, Dene, Saulteaux, Nakota Sioux, Stoney Nakoda, Tsuu T’ina Nation, and the Métis People of Alberta, encompassing the Métis Settlements and the Six Regions of the Métis Nation of Alberta within the historic Northwest Metis Homeland. We honour the generations of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit who have nurtured and inhabited these lands. Our gratitude extends to the Knowledge Keepers and Elders past and present. This acknowledgement is an expression of reconciliation and appreciation for the Indigenous peoples whose territories we occupy or visit.
