As human beings, feelings of burnout, anxiety, or depression can arise at various points in our lives. Consulting a psychologist can be immensely beneficial in addressing these challenges.

MONIKA SAWKA

Monika holds a master’s degree in Educational and Counselling Psychology from McGill University and brings a strong academic foundation to her clinical work. With over a decade of experience in the therapy field, she has worked extensively in behavioural therapy, creative arts therapy, counselling, and crisis intervention with individuals across the lifespan—including children, adults, and families.

Monika is a Certified Canadian Counsellor (C.C.C.) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She is well-versed in a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Her work is rooted in mental health best practices, and she brings a deep understanding of both theory and real-world application to her sessions.

Her therapeutic style is grounded in empathy, compassion, and a results-driven mindset. Monika believes that effective therapy is both client-focused and collaborative, and she places great importance on creating a safe and supportive space where clients feel empowered to grow and heal.

Practicing from a trauma-informed lens, Monika uses a client-centered approach to guide treatment planning. She works closely with each client to co-create a plan that fits their unique needs and goals, ensuring that the therapeutic journey is both personalized and impactful.

Currently, Monika offers direct billing services to the following insurance providers: Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP/ARTA, Medavie Blue Cross, Canada Life, Desjardins, Equitable Life of Canada, First Canadian Insurance, Green Shield Canada, Chambers of Commerce Group, SSQ Financial, Manulife, and Sunlife.
