LAUREN KARIMI
Lauren Karimi is a compassionate and culturally competent Registered Provisional Psychologist with a strong interest in trauma-informed care and working with couples. She holds a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle and has received formal training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels 1 & 2). Lauren is committed to ongoing professional development, and places value on expanding her toolbox to better serve her clients.
Her approach to therapy is integrative and evidence-based, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and attachment theory for couples, while also incorporating modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Polyvagal Theory. Lauren strives to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for her clients, recognizing their individual strengths and barriers, and prioritizing their emotional well-being and personal growth.
In her previous professional roles, Lauren has developed expertise in building rapport with a diverse range of clients, providing compassionate support, and helping individuals navigate various life challenges. She has co-facilitated workshops on trauma healing and couples therapy, demonstrating her commitment to helping clients improve their relationships and mental health. With experience in individual, couples, and group settings, she is skilled in safety planning and creating personalized treatment plans to address each client’s unique needs.
Lauren’s dedication to her practice extends beyond her professional qualifications. In her personal life, she strives to create balance, and places value on health and wellness. In her spare time, she enjoys practicing yoga and meditation. These experiences contribute to her holistic approach to mental health care, offering clients a comprehensive, empathetic, and client-centered therapeutic experience.

In her spare time, Lauren enjoys going for walks with her son, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends. She loves discovering new restaurants and coffee shops around the city and has a passion for travel—whether it’s exploring exciting new destinations or returning to favorite spots for a relaxing retreat. Her ideal beach escape is Maui, while a perfect winter weekend means hitting the slopes in the Rockies.
