Compassion Satisfaction

Compassion satisfaction refers to the pleasure derived from being able to do one’s work well. In caregiving and helping professions, it includes the positive feelings one gets from helping others and making a difference in their lives. High levels of compassion satisfaction indicate a strong sense of professional fulfillment and enjoyment in one’s work.

Burnout

Burnout encompasses feelings of emotional exhaustion and depersonalization:

  • Emotional Exhaustion: This is characterized by feeling drained and fatigued due to the demands of one’s job. It often results from chronic workplace stress.
