Carly Martin
Carly is a Registered Social Worker through the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). With fourteen years of counselling experience, she currently serves as a mental health therapist. Carly’s professional journey has taken her to various locations across Canada, including Manitoba, British Columbia, Nunavut, and Alberta. Throughout her career, she has held roles such as women’s counsellor, community-based victim services provider, urgent response psychiatric assessor, and addictions counsellor.
Specializing in grief and loss, Carly recognizes the universal nature of these experiences and the impact they have on individuals’ lives. Additionally, she has a strong focus on trauma and is dedicated to assisting individuals in overcoming past challenges to live life to their fullest potential. Carly has facilitated grief groups and finds great fulfillment in providing individual counselling sessions.
Carly is certified in a variety of therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), advanced grief specialist in the grief recovery method (GRM), eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), patient focused therapy (PFT), and Satir level one therapy.
Carly is an action-oriented and person-focused therapist who values meaningful connections with her clients and meets them where they are in their stage of change and healing journey. She is characterized by her compassion, understanding, non-judgmental approach, curiosity, empathy, genuineness, and unwavering commitment to showing unconditional positive regard for individuals’ health and wellbeing.
She firmly believes that clients are the experts in their own lives and feels honoured to be a part of their journey. Carly guides her clients in setting and achieving goals, addressing presenting challenges, and tailoring her approach to align with their cultural background and lived experiences.

Carly has a nine-year-old son who brings immense joy into her life, teaching her valuable lessons every day and motivating her to continually strive for personal growth. She finds solace and fulfillment in activities such as running, hiking, baking, and writing in her gratitude journal. These activities serve as grounding practices, enabling her to maintain authenticity and reflect on her life’s purpose.
