IAN ALLEN

Ian is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a diverse background in mental health and corrections. As a Psychology Intern at Savera Medical Clinic, Ian provided individual counselling sessions, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed strategies to assist patients in their mental health journey. He implemented evidence-based interventions like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to promote positive behaviour changes and developed tailored treatment plans based on thorough assessments and client goals. Ian also brings valuable experience as a Correctional Peace Officer at the Edmonton Remand Centre, where he demonstrated professionalism, investigative skills, and effective collaboration in a team environment. With his expertise and dedication, Ian is committed to providing compassionate and effective care to individuals seeking mental health support.

As a Registered Provisional Psychologist, Ian is in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists, Psychologists’ Association of Alberta, and Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). He holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Athabasca University and has achieved his Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Yorkville University.

Currently, Ian is able to direct bill to the following insurance providers: Alberta Blue Cross, ASEBP/ARTA, Medavie Blue Cross, SSQ Financial, Green Shield Canada, Sunlife, and Manulife.
